It’s important to master at least some basic cooking techniques if you’re an avid home cook or a (professional) food addict. Many of these techniques exist and will sooner or later pop up in a recipe you’re planning to prepare. It’s called basic cooking.

Think of some basic kitchen recipes you probably might have decided to make yourself one fine day if you find the time for it: a delicious homemade mayonnaise, a classic Italian basil pesto ’genovese', fresh potato gnocchi or homemade spaghetti. Some do take more time to prepare than the others. But one thing is for sure: your roommates, friends or family who share your table that night will compliment you on your bravery! It’s trendy nowadays to make recipes from scratch. And you will admit that ’I made that fresh pasta myself an hour ago, great fun!’ sounds much better than ’I just picked it up at the Italian deli around the corner after work, tastes indeed like it was made yesterday’.
This basic cooking techniques chapter is still under construction. I'm working on it! In the end it will not only offer you great recipes but also pure skills such as how to clean fresh fish or poach an egg. Gone are the blood, sweat and tears! Gone are the days you dreaded the idea of spending an extra hour in your kitchen. Take your time whenever you can. Start experimenting on your own, not on the very day you have to prove your risky endeavors at dinner time.
Turn yourself into a culinary expert and superhero! Launch yourself into a life full of great recipes and flavors and win the hearts or your beloved ones! Little remark before you start: soon you will notice people will only come over to you and never invite you for dinner at theirs anymore. Stage fright to face up to your culinary experience? Believe us, some dinners always taste better at your place...
