Hi there, welcome to our frugal recipes website!
Hello peeps! I received quite a few emails lately suggesting I should start writing about the trips I make and local food I discover wherever I go. Thought about it for a while and decided to give it a try. So here's to a new foodie project! I'm visiting the Mediterranean island of Malta at this very moment. I'll be here for 1 month. A local specialty here: snails! Hope you like my review!
PS: this blog is brand new, working on it!! :)

Hi, I'm June! I'm from Europe, happily married to my soulmate... My goal in life is to achieve a carefree and vibrant life and doing only things I love doing. That's why I quit my office day job some time ago to focus myself fully on my foodie website. And yep, this lifestyle also includes conscious living and frugal cooking on a budget.
Conscious frugal cooking gives us a surprising boost. It not only saves you a few bucks. By becoming aware of the ingredients and products to purchase we experience that this automatically results in the creation of healthy meals. We live healthier than before which is another good advantage of our frugal cooking. This is what frugal foodie is all about: delicious and healthy fun cooking @ Penny Lane!
This website is a reflection of 2 important interests my husband and I both share: traveling and cooking. Our frugal recipes are influenced by many traveling experiences. We pick up new ideas, signature dishes, ingredients and cooking techniques from different countries and cities we've visited. It’s a real delight to plunge into a steaming city, enjoy the relaxing calmness of the seas or face nature while backpacking in the mountains and look at how local people translate their environment in their cooking and meals.
Our goal is to incorporate all these influences in the frugal recipes we cook at home or abroad. Food plays a very distinctive role when we plan our next flights. Food and cooking are part of a country’s culture and tells a lot about its people, climate and nature. We savor as much different sensations as we can.
